okay, obviously you have keyboards and things if you want to trigger a sample or whatever...but let's say I'm playing live, right, and I don't feel like holding down one key for three hours (because, according to the s2000 manual, that's what I'd have to do in order to play a loop...unless I've grossly misunderstood things, in which case I would justly deserve your mocking abuse)...is there another way to trigger a sampler to play as long as you want (with other samples obviously) with a single push of the button? I'm obviously really new to this whole sampler-thingl, so forgive my ignorance.

Ummm, if I'm understanding your question, right, no. Try a sustain pedal if you don't want to hold down the key. If you're talking about drum loops, I usually sequence them and re-trigger every loop. Less drift from timing if your loop isn't perfectly sliced, too.

Does the 2000 has some sort of "latch" feature that`ll sustain the note untill u press the key again?

i've seen loads of guys shove a bit of folded fag packet inbetween the keys... i'm working on a sound right now on the K2 and that is how it is played - with a bit of cardboard between the keys... serious!

i've used masking tape, just tape the key down to the edge of the table. it works good and doesn't leave marks or crud on the key.
