Okay, so I've got this used s2000 (no upgrads at all) and I'm trying to use MESA on my Power Computing MAC Clone (actually, it's not mine, but that's irrelevant). Whenever I have the sampler hooked up through a SCSI cable, the computer seems to become unstable and there are problems with the harddrive and CD-ROM drive. Neither MESA nor ReCycle seem to respond to the sampler in anyway. When I press load hdisk on the sampler, the CD-ROM drive flickers for a little while. It's all very frustrating. If I have to edit another sample with the s2000 itself, I'll go blind. what the hell is wrong, guys?

MESA sucks-thats the first thing i've
got to say ,but you've already worked
that out i'm sure
i have a s3000xl and had the same
problems in the end i just purchased an
old but still in the box external 2x cd
drive , an old mac one (2-4x) will do
the trick -be carefull as many drives
will not respond to the akai especially
faster ones and i think that may be your
problem-also and correct me if i am
wrong but the apple system is resposible
for opening the cd rom file and may not
respond to an akai formated disk and
associated files.
make sure you have the latest version of
mesa-get it from the akai web site
or get some other sample editing
software like peak
mesa seems to have a habit of corrupting
samples with digital clicks and pops
especialy stereo files it just fucked a
bunch of my own samples i had been
working on for ages-
