don't know of anything but do you really need it?. the mac version of mesa is actually pretty stable. much better than the flakey pc one...the reason why people opt for millennium on the pc is that mesa for pc is very buggy - but the mac one doesn't share these problems to my knowledge...hasn't crashed on me in 2 years.

The mac version Im using does work,
although Ive noticed sometimes the
programs that I save to disk are all
screwed up when I re open it. Im not
sure what the cause is - I suspect its
when I use TEST PROGRAM to make a
program. Have you had this problem?

hey, a little off the subject, but somewhat on... Where can I get this Millenium? I've been using Mesa forever and tried a bunch of different ones that were all pretty shitty, never heard of Millenium. I hate how my damn Effects files don't ever export right so I end up re-doing it.

Hey max,

Sorry for not replying. Since then I
havent had MESA messing up the programs
when loading. Before, the keygroups and
samples, etc. - every parameter
tweakable when making a program - was
all jumbled up. I think it happens when
you make a new program over the existing
test program. Now I do apple n, and
everything is fine.

Regarding the audio editor in MESA - Ive
experienced differences in the sound of
a looped waveform after its been put
into the sampler. Listening it in the
audio editor is fine - smooth loop - but
when transferred to the sampler and
played back, the loop isnt as smooth.
Since then Ive opted to use the teeny
LCD on my S2000 to find loop points. I
found out its much faster that way
anyway.

I guess I dont have any problems, but Id
be very interested in what you or any
other people have experienced with M

hi anrei,

i suppose the reason why i don't find mesa flakey is that i never use it's audio editor (because it's admittedly not very good), i mostly use it as a scsi transferring tool. stuff like start/end and loop points are much quicker if you do them on the sampler, and for more complex stuff i would use peak on the mac or cool edit/wavelab on the pc in any case. the program editor/control centre in MESA is useful when you've got loads of different samples to assign in one program for example, but i find i still use the lcd screen for most functions - much quicker.

so you're right... but mesa's still not bad considering it's free...

peace
max
