Uhh - from what I saw theres only a flash movie with the words mpc 4000 - I heard from the akai list that it was vapor - which would explain why the page is up then down. Namm is over, no? And no word about this...

As for guitar center...them dudes aint the most reliable sources of info. then again neither am I.

It's one of Emu's romplers with a
sequencer. It might be cool. I was
quite impressed with a lot of the sounds
in the Phatt and Orbit modules. The
price though... Ouch!

yeah, is it just me or are EMU's prices way too high? When they brought out the E5000 it was supposed to be an "Ultra sampler for those on a budget" but it seems like the price has been raised to almost the price of the 6400! I could be wrong, that's just what Ive noticed in the guitar center catalogs and other toilet paper I receive in the mail.

i think maybe its demand... it seems a lot of people want the EMUs whereas the S5K/S6Ks got bogged down at the start because of bad reviews. I mean, at least the Akai is upgradeable with an OS, the EMUs every time they have an innovation you have to pay $1K for an upgrade.
