Well, Diamond and probably some other sound
card companies have made 3d sound cards and I'm
wondering what's up with that? Does it help with sound fro recording? Can you create position sound wav files? If can...image the possiblities

Wow, that was blunt, Kilo.... I think the "3D" in the 3d cards is akin to the "3D" effect on the Soundblaster 16... If you have one, make sure you TURN THE FUCKING THING OFF!!!.... What it does is fuck up your stereo image, and you'll make mixes that sound good in Soundblaster 3D land, but sound like SHIT IN THE REAL WORLD..

Besides, do you think they'd put revolutionary technology in a $10 sound card?

It messes with the stereo with delays to give a big messy mushy sound which is nice for about 10secs. At least thats what it sounded like before my ear drum shattered.
