Original Message 1/4 15-Apr-98 @ 10:03 AM - Recording noise free VST & AWE 64?
eight tracks stereo at 44.1 kHz. But as soon as i play back and record at
the same time the recorded signal is MONO and noisy.
I can eliminate MONOness by disabling the Wave out device in the
asio setup. The recorded signal is stereo, but when i play it back in
cubase it is outputed MONO.
Is this AWE a real full duplex (card)??
Should i change my DMA's to get it working??
And now the noise.
Recording stereo works fine from every program like cool edit, samplitude and so on,
but recording in cubase (3.50) always is noisy or crackling. Even when there's
no midi or audio played back during recording. Even at 22kHz.
cannot grasp this since my processor and hd have a lot of spare time during recording.
system: K6 166MHz, 100MB, UDMA2
?????

You´re not the first one with AWE64 problems. This card has NO real fullduplex abilities cos it can´t record AND playback simultaneously with the same resolution (8/16bit). If you encounter problems when you record (crackling, noise) switch off the "fullduplex" mode of this card in ASIO/ System/ ASIO-Driver or in the AWE driver (WIN95 System/ device manager/Driver ....).

Well, you´re right (and this works vice versa).
