Hi there, I would appreciate some help on AWE64. On Creative labs site, they have a FAQ witch descripes how you should appearently be able to alter some NRPN's realtime. Mainly i'm interested in altering the "filter cutoff". Now I tried placing a normal NRPN controller to the associated NRPN-number (Witch is listed in the FAQ... 22 if I remember it right), however this doesn't work. Do have to get into sysex, or what am I doing wrong (currently using Cake7)?
The tool AWEToy does the job anyway, but only on one channel at the time, is this a limitation of the AWEToy or of the soundcard? I'd appreciate any answers allso e-mail'ed to me.
thx, troels

You shouldn't have to play around with nrpn if you use awetoy. What is the problem with awetoy doing it with one channel at the time? You can sequence one channel (doing all your filter cutoff things) and then move onto another and work on that. Why would you want to control multiple channels at the time?

welp, for filtersweeping effects i guess.. when doing feks. goa or other genres aswell, you'll want to move the filters of more than one instrument at a time..

Those NRPN's you want for the filter and resonance are

16277 = Filter
16278 = Resonance

I have found values 0-127 work but your losing the very top end of the frequency. NRPN's have really strange values like 0-65000 or something.

Quickest way to test this...

go into Edit mode (list display)
hit the 'Insert' (on ya keyboard) a couple of times
move the cursor over where it says note and hit 'Enter'
change the note into an NRPN
then change the number following the NRPN into one of the no's above.

Easiest thing to do is set yourself up a new instrument definition that specifies the nrpn's. Then when you come to use 'Insert series of controlers' the new nrpn's appear in the list.
