just hook up with this sound card and I have my DR-660 running with rebirth(The DR-660 is the master clock)..........the problem I'm having is they dont start the masure at the same time.....I ajusted my patterns so there on but its still off slightly,is this the quality of the sound card or what?

From what I understand many software sequencers do not sync well to external midi devices due to MIDI latency or lag. I also own RB 338 and have the same problem, , newer versions may correct this or there may be a patch that you can download from their sight(doubtful). I am curious to see if the new USB midi ports will allow for better midi synchronization.

Has anybody seen the new DMAN PCI digital audio card? It has midi in and out, stereo in/out on gold-plated RCA connectors, as well as a standard 64 voice synth, expanision for daughter wave board, and impressive audio specs, for 179.95$ US! I don't know if it's available yet. Check out the DMAN website.

I'm a newbie to digital audio recording, and I'm trying to figure out what kind of hardware and software to buy for an entry-level setup. Are there any experiences with the DMAN PCI-card? Do you have other suggestions?

it's not a midi problem, it's (it seems) a midi + audio problem.
Rebirth is audio, it won't synch to the midi tracks perfectly, whatevever is your PC our soundcard (350 - 256 mb ram here).

Try to record any sequenced source into audio (an external synth, sampler, tape or whatever). it should be perfect. but you'll notice it has a lag and u have to make everything manually to be in the ridhm.

So if u have an audio+midi sequencer, try to make either All midi track; or all audio tracks, not both.
With rebirth (like any other internal/external audio source), you will have to remake everything manually, but cut and move manipulations.... boring, and not music.
This is also true for asio tracks (vst).
I don't have rebirth , so i didn't try Cubase 3.6 REWIRE thing, but ppl says its better... who knows
