Minnetonka MX51 - Feel The Force, Baby

(10/02/99) Professional 5.1 surround sound mixing with the combined effects and MIDI engines of the SW1000XG and the DS2416. Now it's
getting very serious indeed. So you thought that to play in the big league of AV production and Dolby Digital games mastering, you would
need to have some very expensive kit... Well think again!

Now professional games and project movie soundtracks can be mixed and mastered with all your MIDI and audio in just 1 PC. The stunning
MIDI capabilities of the SW1000XG, plus its incredible effects processing, combined with the DS2416 and MX51 by US software giants
Minnetonka, means that your sound is now coming at you from every angle. No "toytown pseudo surround sound, lets pretend to be
professional" kit here... this is the real deal.

Lets face it, proper audio production teams Skywalker Sound don't use EArwaX (note the letters in capitals), now do they? YOu don't go
down to your local cinema and listen to a soundtrack with EAr waX encoding do you? No , and that's because proper studios use proper
tools... Like Dolby Digital Surround 5.1. In other words...

BIG BOYS TOYS!

XG composition just entered another dimension with MX51 - The Professional 5.1 composers dream come true. Available March 1999 for use
with the Yamaha DS2416 & DS2416/SW1000XG cards in combined situations for a total MIDI & audio integrated solution.

Integration of SW1000XG individual channel MIDI and audio parts (SUB Output connector to DS2416) means that it is easy to mix
MIDI and audio to 5.1 standards, with your own customised mixer surface.
Built-in interface to optional SurCode (TM) AC-3 (TM) encoder for Dolby Digital Surround Sound, used in DVD, HDTV, and DSS.
Video Sync, slave or master.
DA-88 and ADAT integration (via DS2416).
Built-in interface to optional SurFX Surround Sound Effects Plug-ins.
Automatic 5.1 bussing.
Fully customizable Surround Mixers.
Fully automated Surround Panning, available to every channel.
User-adjusted Surround Sound Panning algorithm.
Per-channel SubBass Crossover with user-defined parameters.
True Center/Virtual Center Blend.
Open Architecture for future 3rd party Surround Effects Plug-ins.
Automatic 6-track master creation to hard disk, DA-88, or ADAT.
Breakthrough Tactile-Feedback Interface (you have got to see this!).

Check it out in full at www.minnetonkaaudio.com.

Have you got the ultimate soundcard rig at home (SW1000XG linked to the DS2416). If so then this is the news you have been
waiting for. The AX16AT 16 channel adat format lightpipe connector will now allow you to pipe individual outputs from both the SW1000Xg and
the DS2416 to any lightpipe compatible device. For example, direct to the Adat, or 02R, or 03D or 01v or any one of the multitude of lightpipe
compatible devices on the market.

The AX16AT also supports 24 bit audio transfers, thus making your SW1000XG's on board sounds just that little bit clearer. Taking up no
system resources at all, and both Mac & PC compatible, the AX16AT can fit into either a PCI or ISA slot and give you the interfacing options
your SW1000XG & DS2416 have craved for.

Emagic announce support for SW1000 multichannel digital interconnect in latest versions of Logic Audio Gold & Platinum.
Hence the headline...'The Empire Strikes Back"... when it comes to accessing the most important functions of the DSP Factory & SW1000XG. With Logic Audio Gold and Platinum, you can adapt the configurations of audio tracks, effects, the inputs and outputs of the DSP Factory in the blink of an eye to any desired studio set-up, you can also realise any thinkable intermediate set-up such as 14 audio tracks with 6 live inputs. Up to 8 digital feeds of a Yamaha SW1000XG soundcard could, for example, replace the audio tracks or inputs.

The mixer window of Logic Audio automatically represents the functionality of the digital mixer integrated into the DSP Factory: Insert effects,
(EQs and Dynamics), Sends, I/O routing, level and pan - everything is as comfortable and accessible as possible. Whilst the SW1000XG's
supplied environment windows fully access the key functions of the card every UK mag is saying is the best soundcard ever made.
