I've got a SB Live Platinum. I tried recording via the auxilary inpus on the front panel but i'm not getting a signal. is there something i'm missing??

mate, you have to run the deck into a riaa pre-amp firt designed specialy for amplifying a turntable's output which is very low, and has a very specific eq curve... so run it into a dj mixer or hi-fi amp, then run a line out from that to your soundcard Line-In - if you have ahi-fi amp, run the TAPE-OUT L/R to your soundcard Line-In... if the thing is a djmixer, run the line out l/r to the soundcard.

and tried recording into what s/w ?

oh, did i say. i'm already running the line out of the dj mixer into the aux in on the front panel of the SB Platinum... no signal at all though?!?

is the aux fader active & UP on your windoze multimedia mixer ? is that audio port activated in your audio s/w ?? - OR sometimes when you plug an internal cdrom link in it can disable the aux input on some cards - but you are sure the lead coming from the mixer is carrying signal ?.. have you tried plugging the mixer out that is going to the pc aux into something else to make sure a signal is getting out.
