Hi,

Newbie alert!

I have my Emu ultra sampler audio outs connected to channel inputs on my Mackie 1402 desk, but I would like to sample audio into the Emu also via the desk.

Is there a problem with doing this? Or will I need to sample into the Emu via a different source to prevent feedback etc?

I have an ESI4000 and have not had a problem. Just have one of your aux sends (or something similar) go to your smapler. If there is a "monitor" selection (check the manual for specifics), you may want to turn that off too. I could give you more details when I get home. I do what you are talking about all the time with no feedback EVER. And your smapler is alot better than mine!! :-)

Hi,

Excellent...thanks for your help, I'll have a play around with the patch cables tonight!

...that is after I figure out why my right speaker has stopped working....I really must stop playing around with inaudible rumbling bass noises!

You could use the Mute/Alt3-4 feature. Run a lead from the alt outpout in the back (left for mono)to you sampler input. Then mute the source chanel and signal will be routed to Alt3-4. Put the monitoring feature on in your sampleros (I guess you have that, I have it on the Esi-2000). You'll then get optimal levels for your sampling needs. Hope I haven't put my foot in the mouth again. If anyone sees an incongruity in my explication, please, I mean please correct me
