Original Message 1/4 27-Aug-00 @ 01:12 PM - E6400 Sequencer Questions
I am looking at purchasing an Emu E6400 Ultra sampler. I had a few questions about the sequencer:
1. Is it possible to direct one of the 48 tracks to an external MIDI unit only? (and not sound internally?) Also, can you have two tracks with the same MIDI channel but one routed to internal sounds and the other routed to external MIDI synths?
2. Does the sampler work in multi mode while it's playing a sequence? For example, could I hook up a controller and play a sequence back while playing live samples over it?
Thanks!

and YES, it does multimode. quite easy actually.
thing is..the sequencer on these samplers is NOT a good one. its a scratch pad. not for composing really..
but..if you recorded a sequence say in ch1, then wanted to play over on ch2 or....then, sure...you can do that

Haven't tried it yet since I use an MC-80 for hardware sequencing, but I know a few bands using the EmaxII who do this. It's be daft if the new machines didn't
