Putting aside the ins and outs of FZDump,
I'm wondering why I can't get my FZs to
transfer data to each other using the back 25 pin ports--
something I had never tried till very recently.
The opportunity to download .wav loops, Awave-convert them and FZDump them forced me to learn just how slow MIDI transfers are--- 12 minutes for a full dump!AND One of my 10M's disk drives is acting weird--soooo Time to get the cable, said I, determinedly--
I purchased an ordinary(?) DB 25pin male-to-male computer cable-- followed the FZ manual's instructions--change the data dump source from "disk" to "port",etc. and nothing!(display reads "Time Out Error")
My FZ1, and my 2 10Ms refuse to port-dump to each other using this cable. Did I get a bad cable-- OR is there a bit of FZ lore I don't know-- like
it has to be a certain kind of 25pin, or certain models of FZ had non-functioning ports?
