1. They have a tiny range of presets.
2. They typically have very low polyphony.
3. Trying to play more than one simultaneously is generally a hassle.
4. They don't have much control over their volume.
5. They don't make sounds you haven't heard before.
6. You can't record them straight to DAT without getting involved in mikes and acoustics and all that shit.
7. The people who play them are an elitist bunch of knobs.
