Subject: logic with rage card

I'm having trouble getting logic to run on my pc, error messages coming up when I start it. someone suggested that it was because of my ati rage video card. Just wondering if anyone is running it successfully with this card?

....i used to have a ati rage pro IIc (i think, somethin' like that anyway).... and it used to work fine.

The only thing i'll say is that i never had full hardware axceleration on. If you go to start then on go to the settings and advanced and take hardware acceleration back a notch. With the new card i have in my machine, having full hardware axceleration on plays havoc with Logic.....

I get a "this program has performed an illegal operation and will be shut down error" most of the time, once in a while it will start properly.(even with the hardware accelerater pushed back.)

hmm... i found these two posts on the www.

Try setting the agp aperature size in your bios to 4. Had the same problem. Test it at 4, and then increase it and keep testing until it locks up again. Drop it to the highest number you could get it to work at, and you're good to go.

Have had similar problems on an almost identical system (K6-2 450 96mb ram)
try only using 24 bit colour in windows this solves many problems such as redraw problems in photoshop and bad playback of avi files.
or use windows ati rage pro (atir) driver
