i have an MS database... it has a table for members - in the members table is a feild called for the sake of arguement: 'member_category_id'
right, this feild is a text feild, it contains at least ONE number (one or two digits/places) - it can also contain multiple numbers... when more than one number is allocated the feild contains a comma delimited list - eg: 2,4,5,8,11,13,15,21,24
now, i want to query this table with an SQL query -
i want the query to search each row, look in EACH rows' delimited list ('member_category_id')
IF the calling ID number (carried to the query as a variable) is present in that Feild's delimited list, it return the record/row
i need to add an 'AND' statement at the end of this query, so it seeks out the variable from each rows' list/feild, then if that variable is present i can also search by further criteria inside the same SQL query -
ok... go to it !! - answers by mail please - kilo@realitycom.com - to make it more interesting, i'll offer a 'mystery prize' to the winner - i've wanted to get an answer for this for a while but never had time -
