Does anyone know what a high-spec Graphics card does?
What is the benefit of a 64mb Graphcs card over an 8mb?
And what is a good graphics card to use if you're into Digital Video editing?
btw, does anyone know what a VIA chipset is? Better or worse than BX?

poor Yop :P - mate um, it aint just the ram, it's also about what the cards can decode, and they have specialist chips onboard to decode the algorithms that the games writers use to construct objects and play movbies within scenes etc... so 'games' is like the standard thing to test a cards ability as they are the most demanding and the cards can process multi-millions of shapes in a second... as for video?.. fuck i guess you'd need whatever is the 'Video worlds' version of a pantone matched screen for graphics users... isnt there some standard they use? i dunno ...for editing anything would do shurely as your not checking colour are you - if you are editing compressed video files like .avi any decent card'll do shurely, even an 8mb one ?? - if youve got an agp motherboard just get a standard 16mb agp card in that case they are cheap
