I have a problem with version VST 3.5(no kiddn I hear you say)
Yes, when I load in acubase song from my zip drive which contains audio and midi i get the message "the program has performed an illegal operation and will be terminated" If I try this to or three times it finally work, but only for a short period of time, and there is either no midi,(Can it block the soundblaster midi in port?? because when I quit cubase and try working in cakewalk there is no registrated midi in there either, all is of corse in place when I restart the computer) or no audio
It has not always been like this.
I have an Soundblaster 64AWE gold soundcard, and recently I changed the settings in windows to get it to record better sound. It now records at 44.1kh and uses 172kb pr sec. It improved soundquality in cubase mayorly. But then after some dayz(sic!) I got this error message, it seems like I have to choose either midi or audio in cubase.
I have a pc pentium II 233mhz 64mb ram 2,6 hard disk, and internal zip drive, I have splitted my drive so all cubase things are on D.

And another thing: why does cubase always send these annoying midi messages when I start it? eks: if my sampler is up and running and I change from cakewalk to cubase,my samplepresets are suddenly at 822 and 644 etc, it seems like Cubase sends some program change thing and cuts up my settings. Of course it is just to turn them back, but why oh why?? (the volume is also reduced from 127 to 100)

Are there other programs that may interfere? I have Wavesurgon, cooleditpro, evolution studio gold, cakewalk pro audio5+6?
Seems strange since it has worked swell and dandy up untill recently(just when I started to get a hang uf things)

any help whatsoever is appriciated
jens

oh,oh, not so good.........

but at the moment I do have no idea....

well, what is the setup of your midi inīs and outīs in SETUPMME?

What I can offer to you is to send me screenshots (*.gif-file) of your ASIO-, SETUPMME-, Multimedia-, Windows system (Audio) - Setup.

Maybe Iīll find something....

I highlighted a track, tried to fade-out the END of it, but
ended up tweaking it bad. I used the audio/processing/
fade-out menu and now the track starts loudly and fades to nothing. I still have the track but want to
get it back to normal but can't. What do I need to do?

Thanks very much,
LK

I have MMport (tripledat) sound card with VST, but
can only get analogue and not digital (either coaxial or
optical) output. The output button at bottom of master
FX will not give any other option than analogue. Very
very frustrating. What can I do?

Did you setup the MMPort driver correctly?
Did you enter the KEY No. within the driver setup?
What about your ASIO setup? Did you install it and did you choose MMPort ASIO drivers within ASIO system?

The MMPort ASIO driver will reduce the latency time of VST to the very good value of about 75ms (!!).

Thatīs really great for an ISA Card like MMPort.

..... use HUBIīs loopback device.....

"ftp://ftp.propellerheads.se/pub/extras/hld.zip"

It gives you 4 virtual Midi In- / Outs which can be
connected in different ways.

With this one you are able to combine VST with XG-Gold
via Midi connection (multisession driver).
