Original Message 1/4 13-Oct-98 @ 04:14 PM - Help Needed
I have a question regarding VST and an upgrade I wish to make.
I currently own a cyrix p233 mx computer and vst, however my computer can't seem to cope
with the audio side of the program to well and I've been told this is due to the processors
floating point.
Therefore I now plan to upgarde my machine so that I can get the best out of Vst and audio.
I have been offered a good deal on an AMD K6-2 3D 333, apparantly these processors are surposed to be good at running multimedia applications, therefore will they be good at running VST and Plugins?
Or for around the same money I could get a slower intel p233mmx processor, which would you advise and is there any difference between the floating point of the AMD and the Intel processor, if so will the difference be noticable in VST?
Thanking you for your time,
Regards,

Well, I recommend you Intels CPU but what about an Intel P II/ 266? Shouldnīt be too expensive. And a new motherboard.......
But if you want to keep your board I think P233 MMX isnīt bad.
A colleque of mine has a PC configuration with a P233MMX, 64MB RAM, etc. and VST. It works fine.
Ciao and good luck

We offer fully pre-configured, rack mounted systems
for digital audio and Cubase VST.
The price of one of our systems is not much more than
a regular home PC, and it works much better for Cubase.
Thanks,
