Yesterday I received in my mailbox a long promised software bundle for E-MU APS. It included amongst others Wavelab (1.6 ???)and Cubasis.

I'm new into Cubase. I've used Cakewalk untill now. I only spent few minuttes looking at Cubasis last night but form what I saw it misses 70% of the things that are included in Cakewalkk. Is there any reason to use Cubase? Or am I wrong abount it. Maybe it does include some great features somewhere in there.

These softwarebundles never contain best versions of the proggies. Like in your case you got Cubasis AV which is comparable to Cakewalk Homestudio I guess... If you have used Cakewalk Pro Audio, you should compare it to Cubase VST.
