I'm currently using a really fucked up analoug desk, a 24 channel solton.
I'm now looking for a new one and i think i go for a digital one. I noticed the yamaha o3d. Nice specs

The new desk has tomeet my conditions.

I like a clean sound, punchy bass. The clean sound won't be a problem but is the frequency response ok for making punchy, powerfull (sub)bass?

In a few words, should i go for the o3d?

That desk will allow to sculpt the sound to your heart's content. Where most systems fall short as far as the sub-bass is in the monitoring chain -- the speakers and amplifier. I really doubt a Yamaha digital mixer would be a week link in the chain.

i use an 02r, which has similar spec - they are clean as f***, but bear in mind that they don't colour the sound at all, so what you put in is what you get out more or less so it can sound a little antiseptic if all your sound sources are digital.

a friend of mine has his old studiomaster desk set up as an fx send on his mackie 8bus - this enables him to apply the crunch & distortion from his old desk if he needs to...
