is there a way that i can get my slider movements to also include midi info? i have a mackie 32-4 mixer and i thought it would be real cool if i could get this bugger to realize slider controls to midi commands. just dreaming?

well if it aint a digital mixer that specifically points out it has midi enabled faders then nope.

it's not something a manufacturer would forget to mention.

you could use a midi controler for things like volume.. but effect sends and eq wouldn't be affected.
