Not sure if this is the right forum for this but...
I'm looking to purchase a decent recording card for my pc, and I've been looking at the Digi 001 (Pro Tools) & the DSP Factory (Yamaha).
Digital Village are selling the DSP factory for £489, whereas the Digi 001 is going for £799. The specs for the DSP factory seem to be better than the Digi 001, yet this is not reflected in the asking price.
Up until now, I had my heart set on the Digi 001, as it was the 'home studio' version of the industry standard Pro Tools. But after taking a brief look at the DSP factory, I'm not so sure!
Are there any users out there that can give me any advice? Are there any others that you recommend?
Thanks,
Bluey.

apples and oranges. The 001 is more or
less strictly an audio interface, while
the DSP factory boasts hardware mixing
and FX. The difference is in the I/O,
the 001 is loaded with it, and the DSP
factory is pretty weak without an
expansion card.
Other systems comparable to the 001?
I'd say look at the MOTU 2408.
Comparable to the DSP Factory? Look at
the Creamware cards... Expensive, but
powerful.
