the reflex might be an option, it is an alex, but with midi,
which means that you can program it over midi, you can
have it sync delay to midi clock, and you can do parameter
changes over midi. they are cheap (just dumped mine for $100,
don't pay more). a little noisy but usable. not really meant
for tweaking. unless you really want that lexicon verb, i'd
pass......
don't know much about the mpx100, except that's it's supposed to
sound better, and i don't think it has midi (so can't be programmed
remotely), and i think it can do reverb + 1 other effect
(only 1 effect, whatever it is, for the alex/reflex). also it has
a digital out, if that interests you.
unless you already have some multi-effects, and really want
that lex reverb, i would try something a little more expensive
but more versatile....the intellifex has nice delays/chorusing/reverbs
as well, the se50 is good for weird effects (though a little noisy
maybe?), the korg a3 is pretty good (but mono), all usually
less than $200 used.
