his drums. He mainly samples his drums from old
records and he plays them like real drums. He hardly
ever uses loops and I guess that is why they sound so
realistic. He also doesn't quantise his drum so they
can feel real.

I've actually worked with the Masters, and I could
tell you that Kenny does indeed quantize his drums.
If you've ever worked with the MPC's or SP1200's, you
would know that everything you sequence is automatically quantized by the machine. Whether it is
8, 8th triplets, 16, 16 trip., 32, 32 trip. whatever.
Also, while Kenny is in the studio, his engineers
(Dave Darlington and Steve Barkan do in fact quantize,
compress and effect the tracks). Obviously Kenny does not divulge his tricks and you can't blame him.
Nevertheless, growing up with Kenny, Mike Delgado and Todd, I myself am a devout drum programmer and if you need any tricks write me at HHSclare.aol.com.
Secret: Kenny Dope's beat on George Benson's "You Can
Do It Baby" is a direct clone of a beat that I did on
a release I gave their label called "Gotta Release".
It's all out there, do the research.
