How must the 303 be set up to respond to incoming
CV and Gate messages (given that I already have
a MIDI-CV converter) and how is it Synced to tempo
from a MIDI sequencer??

Unless it's modded, it can't receive cv/gate. To sync it, use a din-24 sync thingie

You can get a DIN cable from Radio Shack. Don't use a MIDI cable, they're not wired the same.

HUH?! they look the same to me; I successfully synced my 303 to a 606 and an 808 using one. I hope I wasn't risking anything.
