does anyone know how to put a 303 in tap mode??? I can't figure it out. Sounds cool so I wanna try it. Hook it up!!! I don't think many people know how to do this though.

What the fuck does tap mode do again? I don't have a real 303, but is that the mode that let's you play the 303 like a keyboard, or is it something else...

Cause Liam Howlett used to use his 303 like that back in 1996 to play Funky Shit.

no, it's so you can tap it with an external beat. you tap the tempo into it.

So it's just like running down the sequence with a controlled speed? Press the key at your own leisure and it plays step 1 to 16? Is that how it works?

depending on how fast/slow you tap it, it will maintain the speed that you tapped in. Kinda like a beat keeper. You tap the tempo in, and then it runs at that tempo. It still runs totally the same, just you don't use the tempo knob. You tap the speed of the tempo you wan't. And it'll stay at what you tapped in. But I can't get it into that mode.

Understood....that's a pretty interesting feature, but why would you wanna do that instead of using the tempo knob? Maybe it's good for sudden changed in tempo, but....?

The tap mode on the Tb303 is not to determine the tempo of the sequencer is running at. It is used to place notes throughout a sequence, like when you tap in a beat (live) into a drum machine.

correct, its for the timing of the notes, IE at where in the bar the notes are placed
