Hi I play in a band and we do many covers of poprock-new age music raging from Depeche Mode to Radiohead. I'm wondering If anybody knows of or is familiar with a synth with versitile sounds. I have a korg 01W, but I'm looking to buy another synth with a different versitile sound(maybe a Yamaha, Kurzwell, or Korg trinity). Any advice will be appreciated. Thank You.

If you've got the money, you can't go wrong with the Trinity....it's an amazing sampling workstation, and if you want something extra, you can also get a Z1 or Prophecy card built in.

I was told that the Trinity is being stopped now to make way for a new synth?
I can't say for sure though. The Triton it is called. It could be mere speculating though, so don't quote me.

Yeah I heard about the Triton as well, I'll probably save for a Trinity. Does anyone know what the difference is as far as sound wise between the Korg o1W and Trinity. I own the o1W and it sounds pretty good, but I heard the Trinity sounds great. Thanks for the advice.

1995 - Prophecy release
early 1997 - Prophecy discontinued
1997 - Z1 Released
1999 - Z1 discontinued....

Fuckin' typical...
