If I get the necessary sync box (TR-727 or some other cheap piece of shite as such), will it respond to an external start/stop? How does this work?

Fuck, would someone buy my MCR-8 for the love of God....
And jcu3...I'm not gonna be using the 727 (if I get it) for tone generation.....it's horrible, I know...I've used it...only need it as a cheap synch box.

But be careful with the TR-727 (same 4 da 707):
IT'LL ONLY SYNC YOUR 303 IF YOU USE AS MASTER!!!!!!!
So if want to sync the 727 with MIDI (Slave)and clock out of the DIN jack at the same time, forget it!!! It's also a big mistake to run a MIDI clock into the MIDI IN of the 727 without putting it into Slave mode. IT WON'T CONVERT IT INTO DIN SYNC TOO!!!!
Many people say the 707/727 are cool MIDI2DIN converters....GOOFS! They are totally useless for this job, except you want the them as the master device. Buy the 707 for its old school sound, not to do sync jobs. PEACE!

set-up #1 use a tr-808 to direct sync to the 303 using a HOSA midi cable 'cause all 5 pins wired. get a cheap effect unit and a cheap mixing board with a send and presto thick kick drums and howling bass from the 303!
set-up #2 anything that can trigger midi start stop e.g. cubase with a midi merge-box/patch-bay or a MPC-2000. now get a korg KMS-30 midi to sync converter. BOOM this box is sick and easy to use 1 midi in 2 midi outs 1 sync in and 2 sync outs. so it can go any way and has multiple applications and cost about $150 I use it to bang clock out of the 909 sync out thru the kms 30 to the 303 and 808 trigger out of the 808 to a 101 then midi out of the 909 again (it has 2 midi outs) to the 727 so I can get my Latino swing on!
Its all really simple and many variations can be created! No one is right or wrong its a matter of taste and style and making many mistakes!
