On pg 50 of the manual it mentions doing a 5/4 sequence with 20 steps, and on pg 52 it mentions 15 steps, althought I gotta admit I don't really know what it is all about (how it is used)

ok, 20 beats is equal to 5 bars of 4 beats, or equal to four bars of 5 beats. get it?

I understand that but my point is that I think you can enter 20 steps into the 303 (dicussion from another thread). I am not sure how though.

You can actually tap the step button as many times as you want, but the maximum in any time signature in one pattern is definately 16. Try it if you don't beleive me! Also when you input pitch info the sequencer will only remember the first 16 notes entered, but it allows you to enter as many as you want.(susequent data entered after 16 is ignored) I suspect this causes much confusion to 303 owners without the manual. Funnily enough though in time mode when you have input enough data it returns to normal mode, I guess it just another of the machines quirks.

peace

You can get a 20 step pattern by chaining two patterns, where the second one is limited to 4 steps.
