I've tried a couple of times to make a hoover on my AN1x, but I didn't get really close. Recently I've bought a MKS-50 and I think it's almost impossible to make the same sound with another synth.
On http://kickme.to/hoovers you can find a hoover patch for the alpha juno's. Maybe you can get close by using roughly the same settings on your JP-8000?

Isn't there some sort of hoover patch on the Virus called "Rotterdam"???

checked the virus which does have a VERY hoover like sound.. but not close enough.. tweeked it according to that site's settings and got it closer.. i used the lfo2 mod stick to make it "hoover".. pretty close.. keep trying i guess.. no luck with the jp though.. not enough knobs..   oh well..

I now know what a hoover sound is. I also tried to make that typical dominator/mentasm sound on a virus. There are some presets that become resonable close but not the real thing. On a JP8000 i can;t even get close. The JP sounds way to clear. Let me know if there is someone who has a 'hoover' patch on the virus

You can't get a hoover sound out of any thing but the Alpha-Junos (and the rack version, whatever it's called). It's a PWM sawtooth. You will never get it on any of the new VAs!
