Would anyone be so kind as to offer tips on programming drum beats similar to those used by Underworld, Hybrid, or Crystal Method?

well that's such a variety of beats, they use such a mixture so how can one be specific... all I can say is, use of timed delays - patterns with just a few drum hits in the pattern sound fuller and create different layer patterns when fed thru a timed repeating rhythmic delay

I had an idea for a script once. It's basically Jaws except when the guys in the boat are going after Jaws, they look around and there's an even bigger Jaws. The guys have to team up with Jaws to get Bigger Jaws.... I call it... Big Jaws!!!

Well there all different:
Hybrid's beats are typical break beats, its just that they never "weigh down"
the rythm buy overcreative fills.
They use tight punchy BD's so as not to over emphasize the downbeat, but
in doing so it means they can add heaps of BD's - see above,
the top 16 bar loop is the typical 2step loop, add we add a couple of
BD's and wula Hybrid / Way out West loop.
Also Hybrid almost always finish on a 32nd or 64th note BD
roll on an eightth bar.
Underworld .... see below

Underwolrd used to do thing's in eighth's, play eight bars of the typicals
4 on the 4 floor BD/HH loop.
Then they'd break it up with a 'DnB' like loop (second loop above).
But actually underworld were very good and creative in their beats, and I can't summarize them, even there total 4 on the floor stuff, and it rocked, other producers never caught on, never understood why.

Oops I meant Underworld do things in eight bar loops.
Also in the Hybrid thing above, I screwed up the first Snare Drum,
- The snare drum's always land on the 2 and 4th beat for Hybrid stuff.
