I'm a beginner, and my stuff sounds pretty good, but only at moderate volume. At high volume, some of it sounds rough, and abrasive. I'm using good samples. Any thing I should know about or try? I have sound forge, and am currently using Acid 3.0 (I told you I was a beginner)
Thanks!!!!!

If it sounds abrasive, another reason is, that at low listening volume you might be pushing stuff up in terms of 'prescense' - and this doesnt translate well at loud volume - Like say at low volume one will over-emphasise the midrange around 4-6k to add clarity, but at loud volume this then sounds abrasive....
check all your gains are not overloading (on material/channels where over-gain is NOT required, and mebbe knock those down a tad?...
also, are you mebbe overloading FX aux sends?...

I had an idea for a script once. It's basically Jaws except when the guys in the boat are going after Jaws, they look around and there's an even bigger Jaws. The guys have to team up with Jaws to get Bigger Jaws.... I call it... Big Jaws!!!
