I am after a good synth for producing progressive house. I have been using a Proteus2000 and a Trinity V3 for producing house, but I want to start creating progressive house (my style has started heading in that direction.) and the proteus, allthough very good, is not really designed to produce the sounds that I am after. I am looking to create similar sounds to those created by artists such as Cass, Jimmy Van M, Way Out West, etc. I am planing to replace the proteus and I feel that Roland (jp8000?) is the way to go but I am after some feedback and a point in the right direction.

Thank you in advance!

Steve.

any of the VA's out now should do fine. If you want roland, get the 8080 instead of the 8000 tho.

The supernova is pretty much the progressive industry standard,if you want to make the sounds that everyone else is making.

Cass and Way out west do some cool stuff, don't they?loads of synth percussion and sound effects and stuff,as nothingnewhere said, any VA should suffice, look for something with loads of polyphony and built in fx,if you can go to a store and give them a listen.

I second the Nova, (or supernova, or any novation synth...) but I do think the Virus is a very tasty synth too, for anything synthbased (trance, techno, progressive stuff etc.)
