Is it still looking on target for the end of September?

I hope so since I'm still waiting for a solution to the bloody auto-glide bug.

Hi Chris,

the next OS release for the Supernova II series is, as previously stated, not expected until AT LEAST the end of September.

Best regards,

Nick Bookman.

Yeah I know Nick, and if I remember correctly you've been promising a bug fix for the glide problem since the beginning of the year, which is why I'm getting impatient!

u will never see it! Novation is famous by now for missing claimed deadlines by about a year. I just wsh they would ad new features , because I honestly feel there is absolutely no reason for me to have an sn2 kb.

Itīs the end of September.
Will Novation ever learn how to keep a promise?
Or not to make any...

To be fair, Nick said end of September at the earliest.

I'd still like to see it ASAP though...

I hope OS 1.7 will include a fix for the 'constant gate' problem. Because the constant gate isn't that constant. It frequently falls away (led keeps burning). In order to switch it back on you'll have to press the button twice. Anyway, it's really annoying, so... fix it

Aye, the glide problem on my Nova2 has been bothering me more and more lately...also, I cant send program changes to the Nova in performance mode because it switches to program mode upon reception of any program change message. Is this also a bug, or can it be fixed?... Global Midi channel maybe??...

Hi Rzo,

The program change problem (leaving performance mode) only seems to appear when you change the first instrument. Instruments 2-6 can be changed without leaving performance.

I assume the "glide problem" could be easely heard while switching instruments in the FX section. It would be nice if it was fixed.

In the meanwhile I'll simply use all those functions that do work. I love my Nova II kb..

My browser somehow realised that this message was so important that it should be sent twice.

Didn't mean to,

Program change messages on the global midi channel of the Nova change thze performance. For the parts of a performance you should not use a midi channel number that is identical with the global midi channel.

Lets have the ADAT interface too while you're at it!

Had a response from Nick B.

They haven't finished the code yet, and there'll be testing to do after that.

Looks like we're probably still a couple of months away.

Bah!!!

Novation Supernova III ? anybody! is it a new one on it`s way. I have the Supernova II and i think it have to be upgraded = bugfixes and some new features like new osc waveforms, new filters. Do Novation care about their customers! I do not think so? I like the synth and it is great at its times but with bugs! ibis@sverige.nu

Mmm... must agree on that one. It would be great if Novation threw in some new waveforms, etc. But I sure hope it isn't gonna take forever.

Novation, what's your progress?

Hopefully he'll give us an update.

Maybe it might help Novation if we listed here all the bugs in detail that we know of.

Actually, my own experience has been that I've had very little trouble with my SNII.

Actually, Nick @ Novation has confirmed the bugs I know about, so hopefully they'll be fixed.

Sure. Let's list the bugs...

My SN2 crashes sometimes on boot. A few part leds light up and that's it. It's not an hardware problem, because I heard more people have experienced this.

The glide function doesn't behave like it should.

Those are the 2 main bugs I know about...

I don't think that the rack suffers from the same boot problem (or at least I haven't seen it so far).

Mine does - I get the SuperNova 24 Voices print on screen, and that's as far as it goes. Restarting sorts it out, though I'm worried that some day it might not!

Looks like the wait for the new OS is taking a similar road as the OS for SN1.

Bloody hell, Novation promised fixes for the SN2 bugs in a new OS this time last year!

Not impressed.

I have a couple of other bugs in my board. The first is rotary, sometimes after voice alteration the dials have to be set to zero before they will change the settings. Second is the cracking in the reverb as you go higher or lower of if you just change type you get a poping sound. The third is when using filter o/d and distortion effect it breaks up sound.

I've discovered a new bug too... the delay refuses to be more delayed than 48 midi clocks.
Never tried this before, so that's the reason I didn't notice it until know.
Anyone else experiencing the same?

Cyrex / FMC

Whoops... just read back and discovered that it isn't a bug. Had figured out something like that myself, but you never know, heh
So please ignore the previous post...
