My band is considering obtaining a Roland JP8080 module in the near future. Can anyone give some detailed information on how the two MIDI In ports handle various MIDI events ?

I understand that the 'keyboard' MIDI IN can be used to supply control notes for the Arpeggiator & RPS and that it won't accept Sysex dumps, but what I really need to know is can it also be used to play the sounds normally (not the Arp or RPS) ? Can this port also accept control change and Prog change MIDI messages ?

Any enlightening info would be much appreciated.

Thanks.
