Got a last bit of cash burning a hole in my pocket and being on a bit of a run with Korg I'd always fancied a Wavestation A/D... now I've read all the old DT posts (esp. a lengthy breakdown by K on it) and I just like the fact its a bit of a kooky unique beastie...

Looks like I can get one with a few extras for about £350 - £400 ukp...

Anyone out there got one/using one/like 'em/hate 'em??!

I bought an ex a little while back to sell on cos it was cheap and they`re great synths, nice strings and pads and stuff like that. My only caveat with it would be that you have to work pretty hard sometimes to wring the late 80s/early 90s out of its tone sometimes (understandable really) - can be very twinkly and new age at times, but that might be what you`re after.

So anyway, if you`ve weighed up all your options and you want summat different and unique then go for it, that external input on the ad must be a lot of fun. Its quite a nice board to program too and with the vector synthesis (which aint really synthesis in my book) its easy to make beautiful shifting tones on the bugger. Go for it, they`re much nicer than Z1s :P
