Recklinghausen, Germany, 7. November 2001

Access Music GmbH, the manufacturer of the award winning Virus series
synthesizer will release a new operating system for the Virus b/kb/Indigo
and Virus rack by the beginning of December.

CEO Christoph Kemper said "The new versions are an early Christmas present
to our users. The new systems will double the total amount of simultaneously
available patches from 512 to 1024. We spend a great deal of importance on
providing fresh, contemporary and exciting patches from a selection of
renowned sound designers. We are very pleased with the end result."

The operating systems 4.5 for the Virus b/kb/Indigo and OSR1.5 for the Virus
rack will be available to users by the beginning of December 2001. Download
free of charge from http://www.access-music.de

I had an idea for a script once. It's basically Jaws except when the guys in the boat are going after Jaws, they look around and there's an even bigger Jaws. The guys have to team up with Jaws to get Bigger Jaws.... I call it... Big Jaws!!!

Just realised (if I'm not mistaken) that you can't save more of your own patches on-board which would have been more to my likings...

maarten-

yeah more user space would be nice but
the reason they have extra space for the
patches is that they removed the demo
song from the ROM which was enouph to
double the ROM patches

user stored patches are stored in the RAM
so more space would mean a hardware
update

Plus remember, it is free and the 2 user
banks we have now are still alot more than
some other synths Ive scene.

are there any other features/updates? seems kinda silly for a .5 update if all we get is more ROM sounds.... should be more like 4.1...

unless there are more "presents" we havent been told about yet...

Spel-, you're right... I came off a bit cheesy for something that is actually free of charge and brings along some extra starting points. But hey, I'm dutch- the most cheesiest grouping of people there is in Europe...

Now how do I save patch info to my MPC in the starting sequence of every song so that I have unlimited user space? sysex or summtin?

cheers,
-M-
