I think it's cool. Think about if we all had to put pics up everytime we put up a track- they'd all be like a bunch of scuzzy dudes sitting in front of computer screens, little bit of drool coming out the corner of the mouth, etc.

Will listen more later, I'm feeling that theta-waves vibe right now. Sleep, that is. Big up to the pillow&futon massive, booyakka, yawn...g'nite.

sorry about the pictures...

wait a sec.. are we talking about my promo photos i've been attaching to these messages?

i can explain.
most guys seem to like them and i put them up because usually when i just post a track or do my radio show i get 'you sound ticky, can i have a piccie?' and stuff along those lines. so i decided to save u the trouble. also the other internet community i am quite active on www.ukgarageworldwide.com, encourges us to posts pics so as to get to know each other on more than a textual level ;p

on the subject of pics for tracks, i think it just makes sense, why else would the site support it if it were not to be used? are you lot faulting me for just 'raising the standard' or something?

if so, i'll go away

GODDAMN!!!!!

Fuck that Romeo remix is *TIGHT* Serious man, best 2step I've heard up here since I heard Jaswho's shit- y'know the airy-fairy stuff ;-o

Remember that shit man? That's how we met! Ah, such wonderful memories, hee hee. Ok, er, anyway-

Sounds like you recreated a lot of the patches and played certain parts over, somehow got the vocal...the programming is top-notch. I'm pretty much blown-away!

sexual manipulation is pretty paltry imho. asceticism is not a popular perception with people of the world. who here wants to provoke influx into explaining his 'beef,' eh?

but now we got the goods! and the Bus was even in the garage last week when we beat the Ravens.

well, we got the goods except for the kicker. oh, shit. that's probably important, huh?

wow, so many reponses, it's amazing. so i am going to reply real efficient, seen?

out to influx: thank you - i thought i'd do my part to spruce up the place with some freshness, no wot i mean? as for it being uk-garage, it because that's the name of the style of music, 2-step doesn't describe it all because some tunes are done with the '4-to the floor kick' such as DJ Narrows, Saved Soul, my remix of Jameson - Urban Hero, or even Todd Edwards stuff which BTW is considered UK Garage even though he is from New Jersey, USA.

out to soulmine - steelcity = pittsburgh (for the brits, think of birmingham), would love to collab, not sure how much longer i will be in the US though. of course with the 'net anything is possible.

out to xoxos = hugs and kisses yeh? well i'm sorry if you thought i was being manipulative, i am not. on the other hand i can't deny that i am fit and i do not try and hide that.

out to anyone offended by those photos: sorry if you are offended by my photos. they really are tame tho.

out to GT - thanks, it's nice to see at least you appreciated them... i just think people posting pictures of themselves makes for a closer knit online community, the others i am involved with, UK Garage Worldwide, Strike FM all encourage us to post pictures of ourselves. one is trying to get everyone to get a webcam.. anyway,..

on to Ghost, oh my god you must have lived here! that's all anyone around here talks about, american football and the local team's past glory days! oh well, nice try. thank god i never picked up that horrible nasal sounding accent they speak with here.

not trying to cause a row. honest.

Listened to the Jameson & Bran Van mixes this time. Really dig the Bran Van one, bringing together the vox & flutes like that; great beat. I find I definitely prefer this to the 4/4 for dancing, but hey, nothing wrong with doing things a little differently every so often. And you know, if your mixes were lousy, the photos would seem kind of dumb but since you're GOOD who can really fault you for a little self-promotion and showing some self-confidence?

good point m.

even if it mattered, which it doesnt, my opinion has always been to let the music speak for itself. thats ALL. doesnt mean a thing in the real world since its all about marketing and the like anyway

you didnt offend anyone! please dont apologize when youve done nothing wrong. especially to someone like me;)

I still dont get the UK garage thing. Is there such a thing as US garage? and...what distinguishes them?

one thing Im curious..do you do all your production yourself?

I notice there's a DT genre called US garage, which I figured was for USonians who do UK garage style, but that leaves out everyone else in the world. Hm. If it's a bunch of americans from New York playing Brazilian music, is it Brazilian music? I tend to think it is.

Xoxos, I didn't say anyone "should" do anything or be any certain way, so I don't think I was moralizing.

US garage is the original but doesn`t bear much relation to uk stuff, not too disimilar from house. UK garage came from garage but picked up a lot of other influences on the way and aint really garage any more except from a few 4/4 cuts.

They should just call it 2-step and make life easier for everyone.

knowa, yup. it's house with 'proper' songs.

'closer than close' rosie gains

that's what uk garage got it from, they used to play us house vocals and dubs but pitched up on the decks. it then got that 2 step thing. but it's all skippy. every now and then in the uk garage scene someone will say 4/4 is "next weeks' sound"

you see the way i look at it, all acts of pollution, production that result in pollution (this includes making cds, and the hapless way people have of reproducing and leaving broken homes all over the place ergo my attitude on social promiscuity) contributes to a *possible* future where all humans must rely upon a human infrastructure for their vital needs because we will have exhausted our natural resources, ie. organic life, breathable air. i'm looking long term here.

in such a situation, it would be a piece of piss if any party were to secure the means and place all humans in a slave-control situation. i can't condemn people to that, so i think it's best if, until we develop the social or artifactual technology for people to remain independent, all things which contribute to human production (of both noted varieties) are to be eschewed.

of course, it's my choice to live life like this, since this is how i percieve it. you go on and do your thing.

that is to say, most people seem to consider that my living my life under condition of what may be a highly unlikely possible future is pretty paranoid.

I had to read that 2nd paragraph several times but I think I get it now. Hey, I'm with you on the not reproducing thing. I think maybe overpopulation is one reason why gay people have finally gained some ground in the last century: the group mind realizes that people who reproduce less and adopt more are on the right track.

Nah, unfortunately the group mind is not quite so with it.

Can't say I like the idea of total reliance on human infrastructure. I mean technology is swell, but if I'm eating something green I want it to have come from the ground, the occasional jolly rancher notwithstanding.
