The reason I'm asking is that NI has a new softsynth based on the Profit 5 called Pro-52. As with most things, I've no experience with the Profit 5. Is it or was it as big a synth as they claim. NI is the bomb with software stuff so naturally the part of my brain that accounts for all of my curiosity...the part that should be cut out but still exists in its entirety...is buzzing once again. Doesn't it ever get bored?

yes it was... the pro52 add's more parts multimode & a delay section & 'audio in' I think (it gives extra's anyways) - they read the original prophet5 sounds/patches.

What do you do? Search the forums for mispelling?   All other synths are non-prophet then.

So then does the proPHET 5 ;[ make warm sounds or cheesy> I should actually check. Tassman has some Prophet banks. Banks exist for prophet heh heh.

The architecture of the Nord Lead is supposedly very similar to that of the Prophet-5, and I guess it included some reproductions of some of the original's presets.. That's not to say that the NL is a prophet emulator, but they are similar.

That's an interesting thing to note. I'm tossing this around cuz I'm also looking at Reaktor which is more expensive but offers lots more. And Tassman does have a Prophet preset. Don't know if it is Prophet-5 though. Probably not. I should bring this over to the vsti & dxi forum at this point. Thanks guys.

I've used a Prophet numerous times, and the virtual one a few times as well, and while the program isn't bad at all, the original sounds amazing. Yes it can make cheese as well, but that thing normally sounds bag, fat, and warm as hell. Very nice synth to use.

The Pro-52 sounds okay. It has a audio in (midi note on contingent) for filtering et cetera.
No really good pads imo, but basses and sfx are quite nice.

We don't use it as much as the Dynamo (Reaktor) soft kit. We're upgading to Reaktor soon simply because of its diversity and superior sound capabilities.

A bomb is THE bomb where ever it may be effective.

Newscool (spelling?) is pretty cool too. Love reaktor, but it's not a real Prophet .
