why when i try to record the arp patterns (from SN1)into cubase(not sysex but the actual note info) does cubase go mental and start playing the arp at a million bpm and at all octaves at once. i remember this was mentioned years ago is there any fix to this prob?

If that happens, you have a midi loop. Most probably midi through is active in Cubase. The SN sends the Arpeggio, the sequencers midi through sends it back to the SN and the synth tries to create a new arpeggio from every single arp note that it receives.
