I was playing with the EMU XL-1 today and I was very impressed. It sounds great.. seemed very inspirational

Have you tried it out? Did you like it?

I'm seriously considering to buy one

my college has a proteus 200 with te extreme lead and mo phatt cards in it. i must say that the presets sound excellent, and if you like them good, cuz thats what you are really buying it for. it is not a programmers' synth. no way to program anything on that tiny rack. and i dont particularly like the way that Emu sets up its filters as parameters on the knob interface. each knob does something entirely different for each patch ( mostly). but if you are just looking to buy sound box, and primarily do software sequencing, go for it!....but i think there are better ways to spend your money.
