I have little problem with sn2 rack. When
I'm playing song from logic, SN hangs up
and does not respond to anything. I have to
take power off and put on again to get it
working. This happens only with one song and
I wonder if I have written something which
make SN to lock up.

Only thing which comes to my mind is that I first
created polyfonic melody but I changed the
instrument to mono and it sounded so good
that I left it that way. Now I wonder if this
change is the reason to lock ups?

I very much doubt if that's the cause. I've done it loads of times on my sn1 with no trouble. More likely some spurious controller or sysex data coming from Logic. Does it just happen in one place in the tune or on one channel? Can you set filters in Logic to filter out controller and sysex data? That would be a good place to start.

Lock ups are occational. I may play the song many times without problem and then
it suddenly locks the SN2 and during lock up some instrument start to play forever.
(different instrument in each lock up)

I was wondering that polofony vs mono problem but if you have no broblems I try those
sysex filterings and look if that helps.

has the display ever flickered on and off? Novations are known for dodgy power supply connecions, which could cause freezing.

Maybe you were right in the first place, if it happens randomly and only ever on this track. It could be that the SN2 has a bug not present in the SN1. To prove it one way or the other why not just set the part back to poly, loop the song and go away and leave it running for a few hours to see if it crashes.

I have not noticed any flickering on display and because this happen only with
one song I dont think it is a hardware broblem.

I have to try mono-to-poly change and those sys-ex filters that were suggested when
I have litte spare time.... I will tell the results after.

Maby the OS update has changed the situtation also... lets see.

i think it is the mono-poly thing... it happens on my rm1x as well (doesn't cause it to freeze, but the notes come out all messed... and occasional as well [that not thaaat occasional]).

wait.. i must be retarded or something ;(
i meant: maybe it's the sn2 getting all its 'note-off' msgs messed up and forgets to do the note off(since you got so many notes giong [poly] but it mono)... that's kinda what i meant when i said the rm1x does that to me sometimes....

man... i think university is making dumber or something. maybe i'm just tired.
