OK, I have just obtained my dads copy of WinXP Pro, as he is going back to Win2000 (Yippee!!!). So I have my Primary OS on drive C: and a secondary OS on drive E:. I am about to put WinXP Pro on C: and my boot.ini file looks like:

[boot loader]
timeout=30
default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(2)\WINNT
[operating systems]
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(2)\WINNT="Microsoft Windows 2000 Professional for general use" /fastdetect
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINNT="Microsoft Windows 2000 Professional for Audio" /fastdetect

Will I need to change this file at all? Obviously, I'll change the "Microsoft Windows 2000..." bit to a more suitable display, but other than that, this should work right?

Regards.

Steve.

Is OK now. I've just completed the setup and all is running fine. All I needed to do was change the line:

multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINNT="Microsoft Windows 2000 Professional for Audio" /fastdetect

to:

multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows XP Professional for Audio" /fastdetect

Regards.

Steve.
