not really sure what happened, i left my setup on overnight & when i came back i lost all my effects in multimode, i now have no reverb or delay on any of my multis.

i am using a yamaha rm1x to sequence my virus b. the rm1x seems to sends some funky sysex/control commands when you exit utility modes, maybe it sent something somehow to turn the effects off? i don't really think this is it though, because i've gone in & out of utility mode plenty of times before. any ideas on how to get them back?
somebody somewhere said their was an effects on/off switch somewhere in the unit but nobody knows where its at. i certainly couldn't find it. i also emailed access like three weeks ago but they have ignored me. been thinking about reloading the operating system but am VERY afraid of loosing my sounds (to many horror stories of sounddiver problems) as i have 10 songs done for my soon to be live pa. plus, what if it happens again? why did it happen in the first place? sigh...
thanks...

wtf!?
man...
well, i have the same virusb + rm1x combo. when you exit utility mode (or press rewind when your phrase reads **** [on old os]) it just sends a weird program reset thing. so it'll set your program back to the first one. but it WON'T turn off effects.

also: (i'm paranoid too but...) i heard the os won't overwrite sounds. plus it buffers the whole os in memory first, so reduced chance of failure.

one more thing: when you say lost efx.. like.. the menu options are still there 'n' all right?

man...
if you figure it out, let us know how you fixed it.. sounds scary tho.

good luck with it.

new OS wont over write sounds. Ive done it MANY times

when you DL the OS...and unzip it, theres a part that says "ABM.mid"

DO NOT run that!!! that WILL over write your sounds (A/B and Multis)

but just the OS...nope.

as for why thats happening? NO idea, man. wish I could help ya!

There's an update to the RM1X firmware that corrects that "reset" issue.
