Hi,

Was looking around a local record shop and stumbled across a herbie hancock collection for £1.99! The track rockit brought back a few memories..... Still sounds great but only because I haven't listened to it for ages... I remeber being pretty sick of it years back!

Anyother fave OLD tracks??

Cheers

I've heard several things that use a sample from his "sextant" album, which is pretty damn trippy on its own. chameleons off "headhunters" is a classic funk thing too.

Hi,

Yeah I remember my older bro bought the Paul Hardcastle album with 19 on it.... I loved it but these days it sounds just a little bit dated.

I think paul hardcastle does jazz stuff for a while now. don't know what its like.

Milan - yeah its Rockit not Rocket - thanks for pointing that out... Post edited accordingly.

Cheers

Hi,

Influx - yeah I know that but what I mean is some old stuff sounds classic and some sounds dated.. and paul hardcastle 19 sounds dated, INMHO.

Man the whole 'Electro' series of lps most of those tunes were on were mad (apart from Amadeus whichh wan't on there... although I must admit to having the Falco album somewhere in my loft on tape. Wicked at the time).

Buffalo Girls was a belter, forgot about it until it was on MTV Dance the other day.... I blew a set of speakers with that tune.... then blew my mates speakers that afternoon with LFO by LFO. Gave all my Electros (every one, up to bloody 14 or something stupid) to a mate of mine who was a DJ.

Never got them back, dont know where he lives now.... gutted.

All this nostalga makes me feel old.....

Living on Video: Trans-X

Great tune. Well, now we're just scratching the surface of good techno pop. Alles klar Herr Kommisar?

I remember chameleon from the headhunter album. saw him perform once and Miles Davis was, believe it or not, the backup band. Course Miles was playing his Get Up With It album and blew Herbie out of the water.

Music Nonstop: Technopop. Oh man I gotta get that Kraftwerk cd again.
