aka sitar in case you haven't seen my new tag yet :P

Finally got XP. P4 2.4 333mhz, ASUS P4PE mb has 533 FSB and hyperthreading capacity. 1gb 2700 DDR. I went to tweaktown.com and worked through some tweaking and benchmarking. Lightning in a box is what I have now. If I turn my puter on 1 second before I turn my monitor on, by the time the monitor comes into its own, XP desktop is up! In fact when I want to go into BIOS I have to do it blind. There's maybe a 2 second window of opportunity to hold down the delete key.

Anyway I love XP! I got Home version cuz I didn't really see a need for the extra stuff that came with Pro.

Nice system. It's good you got hyperthreading capability too, when those chips are realased (and obviously come down in price, it is intel after all

) they are gonna smoke everything.

Yea it flies. Course, in another couple of weeks it'll be one of the slower machines out there. Probably already is
