i tried to kazaa it up yesterday, just to see if i liked it mind you. if i really liked it i'd pay for it. all i got were blank mp3's. no music just static for 3-4 minutes. i guess i gotta wait for someone to actually buy it and rip it, other than the shitheads the record co's pay to post up bogus versions...

100th Window is supposedly supposed to have copy protection on it. The bad thing is it doesn't work on some cd players and I've heard it doesn't work on MACs at all.

uh, i watched a recording of their live pa once and it was wicked! even the people who dont like their music agreed that they kicked ass.

Shit, it's not one of those is it? They put lots of errors on the cd to confuse the writer. Which also means the Error Correction runs all the time on your cd player so the sound quality is utter shite.

Don't know about the not being able to record through your opti card but the actual computer copyer protection thing works becaue the writers don't have error correction because as far as they're concerned what they are writing is correct, but the deliberate errors which have been put onto the disk mean they can't write properly Don't really understand much more than that. Just know that they cause the error correctors to run which sucks. My player doesn't seem to have ECC as it just stops playback when ever something is wrong and puts disc error on the screen so it might not work in that either.

Yer Mezzanine is a great album (def in my top 20) its just that I've seen them live 3 times and the tracks of Protection work much better live. (God that sounds really geekish) :-)

No one ever said it doesn't work on cd players. They said it doesn't work on all pc's and usually not at all on macs. With players it causes the Error correction circuitry to run all the time so it compromises the sound.

'What your soul sings' gives me the shivers. Awesome track. I wish the rest of the Album were as good. Mezzanine kicks 100th window's ass. I saw Massive live when Mezzanine was released, but I don't know if it was the venue or just the live mix engineer - The sound was NASTY. Distorted, muffled and the vocals were under everything else. Horace Andy was there to do 'Man next door' which saved the evening. I wish Liz Fraser were there.
