Can you have a movie clip running frame by frame in logic audio 5 while composing the soundtrack? If not, what does it mean that logic 5 supports quicktime/AVI?

Not tried it myself, but go to Options->Video Player and have a mess around with that. I am also very sure that this is explained in one of the Logic 5 addendums.

how do you mean "frame by frame" ?

Logic has a video float - it's a bit sucky compared to SONAR for example - We did a 'short' film score & sound-fx job recently in LOGIC 5, and it would NOT import the audio track at all with the video, we had to manualy import it. Also the video float would NOT stay at the size we set it, it kept re-sizing itself which was bloody infuriating! - we did the job ok tho, but the resizing was maddening!

yeah it's not ideal, but it does work. i think if you save the size with the screenset it keeps it? not sure. use divx avis as well, much smaller file size.

one more thing, there's a bar limit in logic 5 on pc. you CAN'T have an hour of video if you're whole score is at 120bpm for example. total wank. then again, most films are split into reels anyway, but it's still not ideal.

i think i might go nuendo 2 if it's any good. (sorry dave)
