THIS IS REALLY BEGINNING TO TICK ME OFF.

I have tried to resolve this issue about 4 times through email. NONE of the suggestions from Maudio LEVEL 1 tech support have worked.

I finally had to give up and do a FRESH INSTALL OF XP PRO. The Service pack was loaded first. The hardware installer found the card (Multimedia Audio controller and Mutimedia Controller) I cancelled out of that to extract the WDM 29x12 beta drivers to a WINDOWS\Drivers\2496 directory that I created. Then I reboot. XP finds hardware.

The tricky part starts when it looks for the drivers. If I ask it to search the above directory, it is not found and I am prompted for XP to "search the internet". So, I hit "back" and choose "don't search" to find it myself. I point to the above directory (including the one that the pkzip file made). I get an error dialog box. "The specified location does not contain information about your hardware."

This is extremely frustrating.

because that is what I was instructed to do by tech-unsupport. I have the same problem with the wdm_510027 driver.
